Profile
Dr Michela Vecchi is senior research officer at NIESR. She graduated in Political Sciences from the University of Macerata in 1991 and obtained an MSc in Economics from the University of Glasgow in 1993 (Scottish Doctoral Programme). She obtained her PhD from the University of Ancona in 1997. She was visiting student at the University of Stirling from 1995 till 1997 and she also worked there as a Lecturer in 1998.

Since joining NIESR in 1999 she has been involved in a variety of projects, including the Regulation of the Electricity Industry (Leverhume Trust), Exploring the measurement of local government cost-effectiveness (DTLR) and Knowledge based capital and company performance (ESRC). Her current research interests include the analysis of the impact of intangible capital on productivity, the cyclical movements of labour productivity and panel data econometrics. She has published in major international journals such as Economica, Labour Economics and Japan and the World Economy.
