As the countdown to Brexit nears its completion, we are no closer to knowing the final destination. In this joint event by NIESR and the Society of Professional Economists a panel of influential economists will discuss the potential scenarios and their likely consequences.

Chair:

Ben Chu is Economics Editor at Newsnight and has been economics editor of The Independent since 2001. He is also the author of ‘Chinese Whispers: Why Everything You’ve Heard about China is Wrong”, published in 2013.

Speakers:

Jagjit Chadha is Director of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR).  Previously he was Professor of Economics at the University of Kent and also at Cambridge. He was Professor of Economics at the University of St Andrews and Fellow at Clare College, Cambridge.

Thomas Sampson has been Associate Professor, Department of Economics, London School of Economics since 2011, specialising in international trade, growth and development.

Gemma Tetlow has spent her career working in economics, largely focussing on UK public policy. She is currently Chief Economist at the Institute for Government, having previously spent two years as economics correspondent for the Financial Times.
