This workshop will explore how HM Treasury managed uncertainty in the planning and controlling of public expenditure from 1993 until 2015. Based upon new findings about data revisions that draw on NIESR's own set of real-time data, we will bring together a group of experts and policy-markets to discuss the impact of data revisions on spending plans and the role of ‘rules of thumb’ in controlling expenditure.
