NIESR is delighted to be hosting a launch event for the 2020 OECD Economic Survey for the UK.

The 2020 OECD survey for the UK will be released on Wednesday 14 October, and is expected to attract significant attention. It describes the UK as being at a critical juncture, warning that decisions taken in the coming months may determine the economic trajectory for many years. Recommendations are expected to cover COVID second phase of support, handling of BREXIT and future trade relationships and Britain’s long-standing weak productivity performance. Those indicating their intention to attend will be sent a link to the Survey on its release.

The authors of the survey (Sebastian Barnes, OECD Head of Division; Annabelle Mourougane, OECD Deputy Head of Division; Tim Bulman, Economist and Jon Pareliussen, Senior Economist) will present their findings, followed by responses from Dr Hande Kucuk, NIESR Deputy Director Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting and NIESR Director Professor Jagjit Chadha. Dr Kucuk has recently joined the institute from a senior role at the Central Bank of Turkey and this event will be a great opportunity for you to hear from her in one of her first public appearances for the institute.

After the presentation and responses there will also be an opportunity for questions. We hope that you will be able to join us for this important occasion.
