The Productivity Commission was launched on 16 September 2021. The launch event, hosted by NIESR, featured Jagjit Chadha, Bart Van Ark, Cecilia Wong and Gillian Bristow.
The evidence sessions in the course of the first year will focus on the size of the UK’s productivity problem and on the key drivers:
- Tuesday 23 November 2021, 09:00 to 11:30 – sizing the problem nationally, regionally and sectorally
- Thursday 17 February 2022, 14:00 to 16:30 – international best practice
- Tuesday 17 May 2022, 14:00 to 16:30 – regional disparities
- Tuesday 12 July 2022, 14:00 to 16:30 – labour market e.g. the skills gap and training
