Fairer Active Ageing for Europe (FACTAGE) – Exploring emerging inequalities associated with longer working lives

The FACTAGE project explores the emerging inequalities associated with longer working lives. FACTAGE is a trans-national Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) “More Years Better Lives” project and is financed by the national research foundations of Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain and the UK.

The project examines emerging inequalities in Europe’s ageing societies, with a specific focus on labour markets, (healthy) life expectancy and subjective well-being.  The objective is to identify policies that can best promote fairness within and between generations.

FACTAGE is led by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels and also includes as partners Statistics Austria, the University of Koblenz-Landau and the University of the Basque Country.  The NIESR team comprises Lucy Stokes (lead), Nathan Hudson-Sharp, Andreas Cebulla (NIESR and University of Adelaide) and David Wilkinson (UCL Institute of Education).
