Summary & aims

The project was run by consortium research organisations and public institutions in Italy and focuses on evaluating the adequacy of retirement savings of Italian households and exploring policy options to address any gap in savings. NIESR's worked closely with the University of Bologna to adapt our dynamic structural microsimulation model, NIBAX, to the Italian context.

The project was lead by the Istituto Nazionale di Previdenza Sociale (INPS, Italian national body administering State pensions, in collaboration with the Commisione di Vigilanza sui Fondi Pensione (COVIP, Italian pension fund regulator), the Univesity of Bologna and the Center for Research on Pensions and Welfare Policies at the Collegio Carlo Alberto
