Pub. Type

The report summarises the findings of qualitative and quantitative research carried out to evaluate the introduction of Joint Claims for JSA and the subsequent extension of the age range. It synthesises findings from seven previously published research reports, and is based on interviews with Joint Claimants and Jobcentre staff, surveys of potential and actual claimants, and analysis of administrative data. The purpose was to improve understanding of the characteristics of Joint Claim couples, to evaluate the impact of the intervention on their progress away from JSA and into work, and to provide an account of the Joint Claims process both from the perspective of participating couples and from that of staff in Jobcentres.
