The report describes the extent of discriminatory employment policies and practices relating to age in Britain. Policies and practices examined include: recruitment, promotion, training, redundancy, retirement, pensions, pay and benefits. It decribes the extent of policies guarding against ageism (including Equal Opportunities Policies and training, formalisation of selection and assessment processes). It also examines employers attitudes and their knowledge of the forthcoming age discrimination legilsation. The findings are based on a representative sample of over 2000 employers.
