Evident within the post-war British economy is a regional divide, characterised sometimes as “north versus south”, or “city versus province”. However, this is too simplistic, with worrying levels of imbalances both between and within regions in terms of health, wealth and social well-being, which Covid-19 has exacerbated.
With ‘levelling up’ a key priority of the Government, our work at both a macro and household level, gives us a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by those who seek to make it a reality.
