Research interests: 

E. Philip Davis is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Brunel University and an IMF Adviser. His main research areas are financial stability, banking and macro-prudential policy; pension funds/economic impact of population ageing; policy-related applied macroeconomic research and analysis; the application of biblical theology to economic issues.

After spending 20 years at the Bank of England, with spells on secondment to the BIS and ECB, Philip was a Visiting Fellow at NIESR from 2000 to 2009, during which he was also Professor of Economics and Finance at Brunel University. Since 2009 he has been a Principal Research Fellow at NIESR, and also Pastor of Penge Baptist Church, South London.
