At the National Institute of Economic and Social Research we seek to answer the questions concerning those economic and social issues that affect people’s lives. Our research examines the key issues and, by informing policy-makers, brings about change.

Whilst we are primarily an independent research organisation, our researchers are supported by dedicated administrative staff covering finance, project management, compliance, IT, communications, and HR.

Puzzle piece being added, careers at NIESR

By joining NIESR you will work closely with colleagues to understand some of the core questions affecting today’s society. Your research will be communicated to politicians, journalists, academics and other professional organisations and ultimately help inform the debate.

In return, we will support you to develop your skills and experience. Former employees have gone on to build successful careers both domestically and internationally.
