Please note this event is for journalists and by invitation only
You are invited to attend a press conference on Thursday 25th October at which we will present NIESR's new quarterly UK and global economic forecasts, which will be embargoed until Friday 26th October 00.01am. The forecasts will be published in the November issue of the NIESR Review the following week.
Mr Hammond's room for manoeuvre
In light of its latest projections for the global economy and the UK, and prior to next week's Budget, the Institute will examine the fiscal options faced by the Chancellor five months before exit from the European Union.
As we argued in May and August, fiscal austerity is not sustainable and its end has been announced recently by the UK Government. Further details on what this means in practice will be announced in the Budget on Monday, 29th October. Ahead of this event, our analysis will outline how Brexit will impact different aspects of the economy including public finances based on two different scenarios.
Registration from 10.30am for prompt 11 o’clock start.
