We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new trustees: Amanda Rowlett, Chief Analyst at the Department for Transport, and Keith Wade, Chief Economist at Schroders.

They each bring extensive experience and judgement at the highest level that will augment that already found on the Institute’s Council of Management.

Commenting on their appointments:

Amanda said:

“I first came across NIESR, and its excellent work, as a summer intern and have continued to engage with it throughout my career as a government economist. NIESR plays a critical role in delivering authoritative analysis and macro-economic forecasts, and I am looking forward to drawing on my experience in other non-executive positions to help shape its future strategic direction.”

Keith said:

“Having used NIESR’s forecasts and analysis in all of my roles over the years, I am excited to now become a trustee. The world economy has experienced a number of shocks in recent years, and NIESR’s work has been invaluable in not only helping to make sense of them, but also in providing policy alternatives.”

Chair of the Nominations and Renumerations Committee, Alex Baker, who led the trustee recruitment process on behalf of the Board said:

“I am delighted to welcome both Amanda and Keith as members of our Council of Management. The economic challenges of the last few years has ably demonstrated the importance and value of NIESR’s work. I am looking forward to working with both Amanda and Keith, along with the rest of our Council of Management, as we seek to build on our existing work and deliver our ambitions over the coming years.”
