Dr Ahmet Ihsan Kaya

Ahmet is one of NIESR’s Principal Economists, with an interest in international trade and finance, capital flows, structural transformation and productivity growth.

Research Interests

Ahmet’s research focuses on international macroeconomics and economic development. In particular, he is interested in international trade and finance, capital flows, structural transformation and productivity growth in developing countries

Employment

Before joining the NIESR, Ahmet worked as an economist at the British Embassy in Turkey, where he analysed, reported and advised on the Turkish macroeconomic and financial developments. Prior to that, he spent eight years in the research department of the Turkish Treasury and held research roles at the Groningen Growth and Development Centre and UNU-WIDER.
