Paolo Lucchino has 5 years research and policy experience in the area of labour market analysis, welfare and personal taxation, and inequality and disadvantage. He is a Senior Research Fellow at NIESR, where he has worked for 2 years, following 3 years as a UK Government economist primarily in the labour market team at HM Treasury. He is also a PhD student in Economic Geography at the London School of Economics, with a thesis on social enterprises.
His work is primarily focused on the study of labour market dynamics and resulting economic and social outcomes; the design of the tax and benefit system; and firm governance and behaviour (with a special focus on social enterprises). He is also interested in data visualisation, and is co-founder of the Italian multimedia public policy website Quattrogatti.info
His work has been primarily quantitative in nature and he is proficient in a number of applied econometric techniques and their implementation in STATA.
